CHARLIE'S KITCHEN:

Members the Mount Laurel Professional Fire Fighters and EMTs, International Association of Fire Fighters Local # 4408 and the Burlington County Professional Firefighters Association, International Association of Fire Fighters Local 3091 presented a donation of non-perishable food items to “Charlie’s Kitchen”, on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at the Mount Laurel Costco store, who graciously assisted the emergency responders by granting us special help in purchasing the food. This year the total donation was in excess of $3100.00.

“Charlie’s Kitchen” is an annual food  drive, which is organized by Charlie and Marie Kritz, who are long-time volunteer members of both Mount Laurel Emergency Medical Services and the Mount Laurel Fire Department, in loving memory of their son Charlie Kritz, Jr., who was also a member of the fire department.  All food and toys collected are donated to Catholic Charities in Delanco, New Jersey and are then distributed to the needy families in Burlington County on a non-denominational basis.  This annual drive has been adopted by both IAFF locals for charitable contributions.

The Mount Laurel Professional Fire Fighters and EMTs, IAFF Local 4408 and the Burlington County Professional Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 3091 support this charity as an example of their efforts to give back to the community during the holiday season.

IAFF EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND:

In the wake of the hurricane tragedy that unfolded in the Gulf Coast Region in August of 2005, 8 year old sisters Abigale and Emily Evelo embarked on a quest to raise funds for the firefighters effected by this tragedy.
On September 5, 2005, Abigale and Emily sold lemonade and home made cookies from a stand located in front of
the Evesham Township home of their grandparents.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of these two heroes, they raised a whopping $1,263.00

CAMDEN RIVERSHARKS SUPPORT OUR ASSOCIATION:

In June of 2005, the Camden Riversharks Organization, part of the Atlantic Baseball League, offered our association the opportunity to work the concession stand as a fund raising activity.
The proceeds from this event will continue to be used to support the various community charities and organizations that we support.

OUR SUPPORT OF ALEX'S LEMONADE STAND:

Our association believes in supporting our communities through donations to special charities.
Members of our Executive Board are seen below, recently presenting a check in the amount of $815.00 to Catie Fisher of Burlington Township,
on behalf of Alex Scott, founder of Alex's Lemonade Stand for Pediatric Cancer Research.

COMMITMENT TO OUR COMMUNITIES:

Our association believes in the strength and commitment of our communities. To show our support for the communities that we so proudly serve, we have started a campaign to sponsor local recreation teams in the communities that we represent.
Below are pictures of the first two teams that our association had elected to sponsor.
Both teams were part of the Marlton Recreation Council league.

Pictured above are the Marlton Ladybugs 5 & 6 year old Girls Soccer Team.

 MARLTON FALL FESTIVAL:

Each year our association participates in the annual Marlton Fall Festival.  The event is held each year on the first Saturday in October.  During the event, our members sponsor a dunk tank, in addition to selling "home made" baked goods.  The proceeds from this event are used for operating expenses of the association.

Proceeds from the 2003 Marlton Fall Festival were used to support the FDNY Pipes & Drums

FILL THE BOOT FOR MDA:

The International Association of Fire Fighters has pledged to help win the fight against Neuromuscular Diseases through their generous donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  Each year around Labor Day, the membership of our association continues to support this worthwhile cause through our "Fill The Boot For MDA"  fund raising activities throughout Burlington County.
In 2005 the membership collected and donated $5,000.00.
